Good evening Resident Here’s our weekly round up from the Tyburn neighbourhood policing team. What’s been happening: Tyburn Neighbourhood officers have carried out 2 warrants this week. Conducting warrants often leads to positive outcomes for the police, the community and the victims. These can include; bringing offenders to justice, protecting victims and vulnerable persons, securing evidence and improving case strength. Tyburn Neighbourhood Officers have been conducting some proactive traffic stops. These are important to advise members of the public of the importance of safe driving and to issue any fixed penalty notices that may be deemed necessary. Tyburn Neighbourhood Officers have conducted a knife sweep. A knife sweep is a proactive policing tactic where officers search public areas for hidden or discarded weapons. PCSO’s and Tyburn Neighbourhood Officers have been conducting anti social behaviour hotspot patrols in the Tyburn area. ASB Hotspots are determined when a particular area receives multiple reports of ASB. PCSO’S provide a visible presence in these areas with an aim to deter ASB and Officers are able to perform stop and searches if they deem it necessary. Finally PCSO’S have attended a litter pick. Although PCSO’S can not attend these events for long due to potential other demands such as being needed to hold a scene as well as responding to incidents and working with partner agencies, we do feel that these events are incredibly important for restoring a sense of pride in the community, it is also a great social engagement. Have you heard of Ask the Police? It is an official Policing resource that provides Q&A’s to a variety of the most frequently asked policing questions. It offers an alternative to online non-emergency reporting, reducing calls to the police and freeing up resources. This does NOT replace 999 for emergency concerns. Home (askthe.police.uk)
